Here are the results from the SOTY judges voting for the Seedling of the Year, Tahitian Dragon, won by Richard Johnson, congratulations Richard, and the 4 further winners to be entered and grown in the Hibiscus of the Year competition for 3 years. Tint N Tone X Herm Geller did come fourth but the hybridiser John Richardson has withdrawn it from the HOTY competition as he does not think it is good enough, so the bloom which came sixth Patricia Ellen is now an entrant in the HOTY. The points allocated by the judges is shown in the list at the bottom of the page.

These 3 blooms will now be in the Hibiscus of the Year competition, to be grown for the next 3 years, by the evaluators. There were supposed to be 5 entries in the HOTY, but Tropical Sunrise and Patricia Ellen were withdrawn by the hybridizers.
The winner of the Seedling of the Year is Tahitian Dragon hybridised by Richard Johnson with 76.80 points
Second place went to Tahitian Princess also bred by Richard Johnson with 73.20 points.
Third place went to Tahitian Passion, another one bred by Richard Johnson, with 69.00 points
Tropical Sunrise bred by Bob Carran, with 68.30.
Patricia Ellen bred by Richard Mansbridge, with 68.00 points.
Red Satin bred by Beryl Ewing was next with 64.00 points.
Missy was next bred by Tim Purdie with 63.00 points.
Angel Lady bred by Bob Carran with 62.17 points.
Victor Weis bred by Mervyn Weis with 55.33 points.
